| PAUL OXLEY'S UNIT - LIVE 2012 Paul Oxleys Unit are now on tour to promote the release of their classic album, 'Living in the Western World', The Remastered album comes complete with a DVD documentary of the band on tour in 1981 and previously unreleased bonus tracks, to mark the 30 year anniversary of it's conception. Released in the Autumn of 1981, the 'Living in the Western World' album very quickly became a milestone in Finnish Musical history. Selling over 65,000 copies on it's release, the album went platinum (double platinum by todays standards). The album's hit songs such as Terry's Inside and Spanish Bars are still played regularly on the radio today and have been voted into Finland's 100 all-time greatest song lists. The sound of Paul Oxley's Unit influenced many bands that followed in their wake and their touring success set the bench mark for years to come.. |

News Thanks to everyone who came along to the gigs in 2011and bought our album and generally supported us. We are discussing 2012 and will keep you posted... Radio Pori interview - Recorded ar www.radiopori.fi - 5.3.11 The Living in the Western World 30 Year Anniversary album is now available. We are really pleased about the bonus tracks. It was thought that the original 2inch tapes were lost. A cleaner was alegedly responsible for throwing them out in a routine tidy up. When looking through some pictures of tapes from the archives we spotted them amongst some other reels. Amongst the tracks we were amazed to find two songs we had completely forgotten we had recorded! 'This is not my Day' and a second version of 'The Right Kind of Love'. Producer Janne Hyöty was hastily commisioned to mix and had this to say about the songs; "Wooow! what a lovely sound on these old recordings, You don't hear that kind of sound anymore. Very analog and the songs are great. The Right Kind of Love is a hit." We had three favourite songs from the early eighties, which were performed live but never went on the original album. 'Crazy Nights', 'Blond Haired Blue Eyed Boy' and 'Special Service'. We found cassette versions but were unhappy with the quality so we decided to record them again. We are knocked out with the results. A great live feeling and loads of energy. All the best, Paul
